Our goal is to strive to have our hunters enjoy a safe and successful experience.
Following are charts from the State of Colorado Department of Wildlife showing deer populations and Elk sucess areas.
Keep in mind our ranches are in Units 4 and 301.

DEER MAP LEGEND
Blue - Top units in terms of numbers. These units have the most deer in Colorado.
Green - Second larges concentration of deer in the State.

ELK MAP LEGEND
Purple - Units where hunters enjoy high sucess rates on both bulls and cows. Bull hunters average 53% to 70% sucess rates! Cow hunters do well too, averaging 38-69%.
Blue - Units where bull hunters enjoy sucess rates of 46-65%.
Pink - Units with surplus cows where hunters sucess rate is 35-53% on cows.
Our main ranch is in Area 4. It consists of about 1200 acres bordering the City of Craig, Colorado. We have owned and hunted this property for over twenty years. While one would think that being close to town might be a deficit, it seems to be quite the opposite! Success rate on this property is over 90% on Deer and antelope. Elk normally do not come through this place until the later seasons, depending on weather and hunting pressure.
This property is easy to hunt and would be highly recomended for elderly or handicapped hunters.
We have two other ranches further out of town. They are both in Area 301.
One is about 15 miles northwest of Craig. It consists of about 780 acres with abundant water for wildlife. It is surrounded by private ranches. We have good sucess with deer. It is in the main Elk migration area.
The other ranch in Area 301 is about 5 miles from the 780 acres, or about 20 miles from town. It is four parcels of private land totalling approximately 2,000 acres, all close to each other, and surrounded mostly by BLM. If a hunter has a tag that permits private and public land hunting, he has 4,000 to 5,000 contiquous acres to hunt!
There is good water for wildlife on this ranch. There are plenty of deer and antelope on this property, and it is in the main Elk migration area.
Our Facilities:
The main ranch in unit 4 has a three bedroom mobile home with a complete kitchen, and two full baths with hot water. Next to it is a school house that is set up for sleeping. While it doesn't have a bathroom, it is warm and comfortable with a wood stove and electric heaters.
There are also camp sites available.
The Ranch in unit 301 has a primitive moble home with a kitchen and a single bathroom with hot water. There are dry camp sites nearby. There also is a good set of corrals if someone wanted to bring horses!
